What is Scrabble® for Literacy?

Literacy Volunteers of Chenango County, with support from the National Scrabble® Association hosts it's fifth annual Scrabble® Fundraiser in Norwich, NY!

Community members will play Scrabble®, raise funds and promote literacy awareness. Chenango businesses will support the work of Literacy Volunteers by sponsoring teams and underwriting costs.

How it works:

• Teams compete at 3 rounds of Scrabble® and other word games

• Teams are matched within catagories (Beginner, Intermediate, and Excellent)

• Teams score points per round

• Judges keep score

• The highest scoring team in each category wins!

Prizes:

• Prizes awarded in each category

• Door prizes for all

• 50/50 Raffle & Silent Auctions

Your donation helps buy:

• Books and materials for literacy program participants

• Learning equipment for students with special needs

• Training programs to enhance the teaching and learning experience

• Recognition gifts for volunteers and students

How you can participate:

• Play as a team. Teams can be friends, family, co-workers, etc.

• Sign up as an individual. We will match you with a team of other individuals.

• Compete for prizes. First, Second, and Third prizes will be awarded in each category. Door prizes are donated by local businesses.
