Child/Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)

The USDA's Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) plays a vital role in improving the quality of child care and making it more affordable for many low-income families.

The New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) is funded by USDA to administer the CACFP in New York State. Opportunities for Chenango, Inc. has entered into an agreement with NYS DOH to be a CACFP sponsoring organization for home day care providers in the Chenango County area. CACFP reimburses participating providers for healthy meals and snacks served to children in day care, ensuring that young children have access to a nutritious diet and improved eating habits through nutrition education.
