Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. * Household members cannot be under a current sanction. * Vehicle must be worth the repair. * Client must find a garage willing to accept a DSS voucher. * Car repairs must be directly related to transportation to paid employment. * Client cannot have the resources to pay for the repair. * Payments must be made to either divert from cash assistance, or to reduce the need for cash assistance. * Car repair is made once per lifetime per NY State Dept of Labor employment regulations.
