Community Economic Development

 

What is it?

The Community Economic Development program at OFC, Inc. is focused on microenterprise development. It is designed to create community wealth, generate family assets, and increase economic security for low to moderate income residents of Chenango County. The major project of this effort is Bullthistle Rag Enterprise, which is designed to educate, motivate, and inspire fiber and textile craftspeople interested in starting their own business.

 

 

What services are offered?

  • Technical Assistance with Business Planning, Marketing, Product Development and other aspects of starting a successful business
  • Access to equipment and a facility in which to work
  • Access to raw materials and supplies
  • Assistance with financial resources including a revolving loan fund
  • Basic job skills
  • Assistance in goal setting and goal achievement

Where is it?

 

The Bullthistle Rag Enterprise Textile Studio is located at the Catholic Charities Roots & Wings facility at 34/36 Berry Street in Norwich, New York. Map The facility is open 9:00am to 4:00pm Tuesday-Friday. Please call Deb Dennis at (607) 334-7114 for more information.
