Again this year, we will be awarding a scholarship in the amount of $250 to a graduating Chenango County senior who attended the Chenango County Head Start program as a young child. The applicant must be accepted into a post-secondary education program or any certified training or vocational program.
The scholarship was created in partnership with his family as an expression of sincere gratitude to Jim Nolan for his many years of dedication, service and support of the Child and Family Development programs of OFC, Inc. Jim began his volunteer work in 1967 by serving on the OFC, Inc. Board. He visited classrooms, greeted families and encouraged staff in their duties to provide quality services.
Individuals interested in applying for the scholarship should contact their school guidance counselor. Applications are due to the Head Start Early Childhood Education Committee by May 1, 2016.
